Arlo Ultra 4K Unboxing

October 12, 2019

Gabe: Hey, everybody. It’s Gabe at Security Baron. Today we’re unboxing the Arlo Ultra 4K security
camera. Let’s Dive in. [music] Gabe: If you’d like to see a list of our favorite
home security cameras, google “Security Baron, best home security cameras.” If you have a question about today’s unboxing,
leave us a comment and I’ll get back to you. We’ve been pretty excited about the Arlo 4K. We pre-ordered it a few months ago and we’re
excited to see what it has. To give you an idea of what they’re hyping
up themselves, on the back of the camera they talk about their 4K video with HDR, which
is basically what I have for my television now. 180 degree viewing angle so they’re really
getting a wide view of any particular space. Things like magnetic charging, integrated
spotlight, crystal clear two-way audio, custom activity zones. We’re pumped to see how the Arlo 4K actually
works. Before we do that, we have to unbox it. Here I go, starting with the Arlo 4K. [crinkling] Gabe: What I notice here is it also has a
Arlo Smart 1-year plan included, which is great because I think my Arlo subscription
maybe just expired, so I need to go and get a new one. Start with that. [pause] Gabe: We’ll speed this up in post. All right. Here we go. Voilà. Move that out of the way. We’re greeted with the camera right off the
bat. Here we go. That Arlo camera. It looks a lot like the Arlos that we’re familiar
with. The Arlo Pro 2, to be specific. Basically the same size but it actually feels
like it may be lighter. Maybe they changed some of the components,
some of the things that are inside, just to make sure that it isn’t too heavy. Take all of these pieces out. Support literature, and of course you’ve got
to have your smart hub. Now, what will be interesting to see is we
already have a smart hub for an Arlo because we have the Arlo Pro 2s. I wonder if this also works for those or vice-versa. Our charging hub. Remember that the Arlos typically can be charged
and recharged. Then you can put them out in the world without
having to have them attached, which is pretty cool and one of the reasons that Arlos are
a little bit spendier than a lot of the cameras you see out there. Now, I want to see what is inside of here. Here we are. There we go. That looks like a battery. Here we’ve got some mounting hardware. A little base and our adapter plug. Here we are. The [indecipherable 3:33] Arlo here. Take this. Here we have all the pieces. Let’s clean this up a little bit. Hold on. Quick break. This is one of the first 4K cameras that we
reviewed here at Security Baron. We’re wondering how quickly do you all think
that everyone will move to 4K in terms of their security cameras? Give us your thoughts below. We’d appreciate it. Let’s get back to the video. Here we are with everything received in our
Arlo Ultra 4K package. I like to consider myself a bit of a literature
aficionado, so I’m going to go ahead and start with the booklet that they sent and see exactly
what comes with it. First you get a video monitoring decal so
people will know that you’re protected by Arlo. You can put that in your window. Then you have essentially your set-up guide
and the rules about your rechargeable batteries. This tells us everything that’s in the box. It is pretty straightforward. We have a magnetic charging cable here. We have the actual Ultra wire-free camera
here. We’ve got our mount and these work [clicks]
like that. You can mount it in various ways just with
the mount here. We’ve got our plug. This will actually go into the wall. The USB port here. We’ve got our smart hub because Arlo cameras
need a hub to work. On the back of the hub, you’ll note there’s
your sync button, your Ethernet cable, your power and your reset button if you need to
reset the system. You got battery, an Ethernet cable, your power
adapter for your smart hub and your mounting screws that you can use to mount the actual
magnetic mount. Looking at all the components, I am really
excited to dive into this 4K camera. We don’t see a lot of 4K cameras like this
Arlo Ultra 4K security camera. That’s pretty exciting. That’s our unboxing of the Arlo Ultra 4K UHD
Wire-free security camera. If you appreciated today’s unboxing, give
us a like and hit that subscribe button. As always, this is Gabe the Security Baron. Be secure.

4K like 1080p will become the standard. It’s just a matter of time. Once 4K becomes less of a elite class title on products, and becomes the norm, will look back on 1080p and go, wow that looks like garbage!

You see that now with 1080p and 720p. Or even 480p(DVD).

OK, its an unboxing video. But you are aware of all the issues these cameras have since (beta) release? Right now its thrown money. Unless Arlo provide really important firm and software updates in the coming days/weeks.

Very disciplined organized systematized review. Excellent on both the arlo2 & arlo ultra.
On the vid for the arlo 2 a comment by the bearded dude “ you’r killing it i dont know how you have so few views or subcribers”. I agree.
Just a thought on you picture for the vid just put the item being reviewed and when starting the review immidiately lay out your system by which you will judge. Just looking around on ytube like “lifehacster” and “steve dose”. Also good reviewers. I dont know cause dude you are really good.
