This week on TGC News, a bunch of new handguns
and a bunch of new rifles, coming your way, after the jump! Welcome back to another episode of TGC News,
the only gun news show that covers things you actually care about, my name is Jon Patton. It has been a while since I’ve seen you
guys. You look great. I like what you’ve done with your hair. Alright before we get into some news, I highly
recommend you all go check out our coverage from this year’s SHOT show. We covered a bunch of new rad stuff, so go
give it a look. Now, stuff we missed at SHOT. First, a new one from Mossberg. It was about a year ago that we saw the MC1SC
hit the market aimed at taking market share from the likes of Glock 43 and Smith & wesson
Shield, and to be honest, I’m not sure how big of a chunk they took. Maybe guns that work at gun counters can weigh
in on that. However, I do know that I personally really
liked the gun. The trigger was nice, it took Glock 43 mags
and the grip was nice too. Well now they’ve introduced the MC2c. Sort of a medium sized version of the MC1. The major changes besides the bump in size,
a 4 inch barrel, 13 round mags with 15 round extendos available, and that’s pretty much
it. It still has the flat face trigger, and options
for cross bolt safety which didn’t make sense before and still doesn’t, a couple two tone
options and one with fancy night sights. Pricing for the base model is 490 bucks MSRP,
up to 595 for the model with the truglo sights. So let’s call it a 450 dollar gun on dealer
shelves, is this enough to tackle the likes of the VP9, the Glock 19, the M&P or even
the affordable Taurus G3, I have my suspicions that it will fall short on those challenges. Also in the news, a new version of one of
my favorite handguns, the Wilson Combat EDC X9. We saw the addition of the EDC X9L not too
long ago and now there’s the EDC X9S. You guys are smart so I’m sure you get that
this is a subcompact version of the gun. It seems they’ve gone a bit farther than just
chopping length off the muzzle and grip. Instead of having removable grip panels, this
is a solid aluminum frame that is meant to be as slim as possible. And at 1.25inches, i’d say they did a pretty
good job on that. The gun also comes standard with a 10 round
and a 15 round magazine. They’ve also trimmed down the controls across
the board. Other than that, it’s got things you would
expect from Wilson like the fluted barrel, nice texturing all over and a fantastic trigger. The thing that always brings us back to reality
with the Wilson guns is the price. The base MSRP on the X9S is 2695. And rounding out our handguns this week, is
a unique take on a single shot pistol. Imagine someone that barely knew about guns
tried to explain to someone that was drunk what a handgun looked like and how it functioned,
and then that drunk tried to draw a picture of it. That’s what the Altor Pistol looks like. It’s also only got 6 parts total. It’s quite possibly the most simple thing
that wasn’t made by a guy with a welder in his garage. The way I see it, this is NOT meant to be
a primary sidearm. You literally have to twist the barrel to
move the gun from safe to fire. There is also no trigger guard and the trigger
itself is just a little tiny nub under the rear of the barrel. It is strange, but because I like strange
guns, I want one. The pricing is also pretty interesting. The 9mm version is 129 bucks and the 380 is
119. I really don’t think this is going to be
viable for a lot of folks, especially with the HUGE amount of good, small guns on the
market these days. However, goofy stuff is always fun to share
with you guys. I want to hear your thoughts on these new
handguns, are any of them tickling your fancy? Do you prefer not to have your fancy tickled? Sound off below with your thoughts! We have a ton more to cover so let’s keep
it rolling. Franklin Armory just released a new trigger
at SHOT show called the BFS3 22C1. Its terrible product name for a binary trigger
for one of the most popular rifles on the planet. The Ruger 10/22, AND its clones. It’s the same as all of the other triggers
that franklin armory makes, 3 modes, safe, semi and binary, and in binary it will fire
on the pull and on the release of the trigger. It also has the unfortunate reality of being
expensive just like all of the others. It’s not listed on their website yet but I’ve
seen it on sale for 299 bucks. I think it’s a neat idea, but I have a hard
time accepting a trigger that’s more expensive than the rifle it’s made for. Henry Repeating Arms has a new series of rifles
called Model X. The long and short of these is that they are
all black, have polymer furniture that includes a little section of picatinny rail under the
nose and has a threaded barrel on the rifle versions. They are available in the Big Boy pistol caliber
variant, the Lever Action 4570 variant and the 410 version. All of them come with fiber optic sights and
the ability to load from the tube OR from the side of the gun. Pricing on these comes in at 970 bucks MSRP. I think a pistol caliber version might be
in order for me. There’s also a new one from Daniel Defense
called the PDW. Long story short, it’s a 7 inch 300 blackout
tiny boy with either a Maxim Defense brace or stock. They are also using a linear comp instead
of a muzzle brake likely to help reduce people getting hurt from blast on a tiny set up like
this. The MSRP on the PDW is 1865 for the brace
version OR 1935 for the SBR version. And rounding us out, Benelli, best known for
their shotguns, has released a new bolt action rifle called the Lupo. I gotta tell you, it’s got some interesting
features. First off, you’ll be able to get it in 3
different calibers. 3006, 300 win mag, and 270 winchester. The 270 and 06 will have 22 inch barrels and
the win mag will have a 24 inch. All of which are threaded to accept a shusher
device. Moving back from there, you have a steel main
receiver and an aluminum lower receiver which is where the stock and forend attach. This means you can free-float the barrel and
do some interesting stuff with the stock portion like using a similar drop and cast adjustment
to shotguns. They also have a recoil absorbing damper on
the rear and a soft cheek pad on the top of the stock. They’re claiming a 3 shot sub MOA guarantee
as well so i’m assuming that this thing will be a great rifle, and it should be for the
MSRP of 1699. And now, as you guys requested, Patton’s
Armory. This is a segment where I grab one of my personal guns and tell you guys about it. This bad Larry is a 500 magnum from Smith
& Wesson. It happens to be part of their performance
center line so the actions all tuned up got a really really nice trigger on it. It’s got the non fluted cylinder, and the
three and a half inch non-ported non-braked barrel. Now this is one that I got in for a test that
we are going to be doing very very soon with some 500 magnum ammunition, and probably some
rad slow-mo. I mean this is one of those guns that’s small
enough to be sort of a guide gun like you could you know keep this in a chest rig and
if you’re out in like Bear Country or something like that you could easily carry this and
it would take down anything in North America providing you could hit it. This is just one of those really fun guns
that I wanted to have as part of my collection and I somehow convinced Smith & Wesson to
send one over. Honestly they may ask for this back at some
point, and I may just try and buy it from them. This is a really cool gun in a really cool
caliber is simple but it is very nice. If you guys enjoyed this little look at my
guns, and want to see more, let me know in the comments. This time our questions are coming from the
TGC facebook page, go follow us over there if you haven’t. I took this question not because of the main
ask but moreso to address a point. I have no experience with canon safes. I wanted to take this as a chance to tell
you all that that gun number, in this case a 64 gun safe, is total BS. If you have any AR’s or guns that aren’t
old school bolt actions or shotguns, that number is total nonsense. Just get the biggest safe you can afford and
that you can fit through the doors in your house. Its between the 500 blackout from CROM or
the Laugo Alien. Side note, I’m working on getting a hold
of an alien for some video very soon. Yes and no. Its sort of a catch 22. The massive uptick we got in 5.7 chambered
guns will likely fuel higher demand for ammo, so
initially pricing could go up. But if companies like federal ramp up production,
that could drop quickly after the initial bump. I for one am hoping to see 5.7 drop below
the price of 5.56 ammo but only time will tell on that one. and if you want to ask a friendly fire question, send it to me over on! That is it for this week’s show. I would love it if you guys hit the like button
to show your support and if you think we’ve earned it, get subscribed as well. As always, thank you all for watching. We’ll see you soon.

I'd probably get one of the new Geissele rifles because well, all the other AR's that I have I've assembled myself and it'd probably be a good idea to have at least one that's built from a reputable company.

  • Reply x95mk220 February 11, 2020 at 8:34 am

The pistol at least would be the CZ DWX compact with full picitanny dustcover. It looks like pure magic.

Sooooo… grabs hot glue gun, makes it a single shot pistol, and despite hi-point pistols and old pawn guns costing less than most peoples paychecks… sells it for $129!??

(a bolt action mossberg shotgun can be bought for about $50-$100 and has twice the capacity)

I would get the PSA PS9 Dager with the rmr cut and threaded barrel. Reason is because it’s the only firearm from shot show that I will actually be picking up upon release.

  • Reply N. Jacobs February 11, 2020 at 12:12 pm

    … ugh… $2,500+ handgun.

Oh wait, it's chambered in 9mm?

I can't wait to not buy this.

  • Reply N. Jacobs February 11, 2020 at 12:35 pm

New for 2020, Charging you way more than you're willing to pay for what you want ….
… except for that single-shot-pistol with a screw-on barrel, where they offer you something at a bargain-basement price that you do not want

$2,500 conceal carry gun? Is it made out of Gold? Does it shoot 115 gr diamonds?

Here's a small 300 blackout that farts in your face with every trigger pull. It includes a an arm-brace which the ATF will find illegal in approximately five weeks, and it can be yours for the price of three ARs that out perform it in the 'stay-out-of-a-federal-pound-me-in-the-ass-prison-for-shouldering-it' category.

But at least there's finally some picatinny rail on a lever gun for the first time in since-when-Mossberg-did-this-a-decade-ago. An uglier boom-stick I'd not seen until Altor-Corp said, "Hold-my-beer"

  • Reply Delta Firearms LLC February 11, 2020 at 1:19 pm

    PSA 7

  • Reply narlocb February 11, 2020 at 1:39 pm

I like all the new guns except the WC. WC is not a brand i will ever own or even dream to own. Don't get me wrong, they make fabulous looking and working guns. But the hours they spend on each gun does not in any way justify the inflated price tag. WC is a niche market and they will always be a niche market. I would rather own S&W, glock, or SIG over a gun from WC. At this point you are paying for a name.

  • Reply Reggie Ficklin February 11, 2020 at 1:45 pm

I'm going to keep the broken record skipping and say PSA JAKL. I think that they're perfecting the AK action, and now giving you the ability to drop that on top of any mil-spec lower is innovative as hell to me!

Thanks John. On the Henry X, needs a MI handguard. The Athena rifle, that just looks cool.

  • Reply Theodore Humphreys February 11, 2020 at 1:52 pm

I am really interested in the Mossberg MC2. Little bigger with 13 to 15 round capacity and about as thin as MC1. Looks like good CC option, but we will see.

That single shot I believe what the salesperson said about it at shot show was it's meant to be a gun to dispatch wounded animals and suffering animals something a Hunter can use if they botched a shot so that they can humanely put the animal down after the fact.

The only thing the Mossberg pistol did was be better than the Remington counterpart. Working in 2 stores, in 2 different states (Salt Lake area, and central Las Vegas), with drastically different markets, I haven't sold 1. I have had coworkers who've sold them, but it was for people who specifically were searching it out, to try something different.

With the current roster of small, self defense, pistols, the Mc1 didnt do anything different enough to make a distinct mark on the national market. The gen1 Shield continues to fill that niche at it's insane price. S&W is smart to not discontinue it, even with their various options in their Shield line.

PSA AKE. I've been thinking about an AK pattern rifle for awhile and the AKE has been getting some great reviews and PSA is killing it in the AK market. Personally, I don't see the need to have an original AK/AKM because of all the loopholes and I'd rather have an American manufacturer who'll put out aftermarket parts and give great customer service if anything goes awry with the rifle(which doesn't seem likely).

If I could be the first to get a new gun from SHOT it would be the ISB SUB-2000. If you don't get one of the first 5 that they make, good luck getting one in the next 2 years.

I feel like I'd just get a used gun for less before I'd get the single shot

Dan Wesson DWX is the only correct answer. Takes two of the best pistols and combines them. Epic. Hudson H9 also did this, but I like CZ75s more than Glocks.
