Capitalism creates bankers? With a monopoly on money granted by government, so no. Lawyers – give me a break. Courts are private?
Capitalism creates dru lords? Prohibition – you get it right?
Inequality well, thats a longer one but this is not right too inequality raises in todays US under fascist-like economy.
Greed – when did you want anything you gready piece of ..

All other things – are you trying to bash capitalism or laugh at stupidity of marxist propaganda? I really don't know 😀

  • Reply trancedsailor June 9, 2012 at 11:02 am

There is no correct form of government. There is only a form of government that is destined to fail.

  • Reply Waroftheworlds112 June 15, 2012 at 6:42 am

Exactly, but unfortunately it seems as if people these days are too dependent on some form of government. I think that after we as a species mature more, we will realize we don't need anyone to tell us what is good or bad, what to do, think or feel, what to eat etc. Peaceful anarchy, lands ruled by the people and only the people.

There sure are a lot of bogymen in the world… I'm fairly versed in history and there were a few things that really aren't accurate in this documentary. There were other things that were distortions. Yes, there are some serious fundamental problems with our country, but I think this theme of reaching for ultimate power and control is more attributed to human nature, not always bogymen.

  • Reply Pablo Costa Tirado June 20, 2012 at 5:19 pm

There´s no such thing as "human nature". In the second film (Zeitgeist Addendum, in my videos too), the explain that in detail. So far much interesting film than this (the first one)

  • Reply Slim Strontem June 26, 2012 at 9:28 pm

While you provide some useful information and make some interesting points, I gotta say:
You sure go to a LOT of trouble to argue for global-eco-communism. Your assumption that a "venus-future-humanity" would be free of those seeking personal control and gain is quite irrational, yet is the obvious the key allusion you use to imply that in your magic-tech-future, no authoritarianism would exist.
Democracy is mob rule. It is NOT a legitimate form of government. If you don't get that much, ….

  • Reply Pablo Costa Tirado June 27, 2012 at 6:39 am

Sure, you´re right, but you agree with The Venus Project. Check out more videos about Jacque Fresco´s ideas and you´ll se how to deal with that problems.

to the one who created this video, thank you,, i only have 3 yrs of a 4yr college degree completed, i stopped mainly because i felt .like i wasnt learning anything useful, in my gut i constantly felt like what a waste of time, effort, money and uneeded stress,, i learned more in the first 20min-of this video than my state university taught me in 3 years, again, thank you, never understood money but i feel i have a handle on the basics for the first time in my life !

  • Reply Pablo Costa Tirado August 13, 2012 at 8:19 pm

I recomend you to watch the two other zeigeist and The Venus Project films.

  • Reply ALUMATRIX August 13, 2012 at 8:48 pm

i can only attempt to imagine the effort,,time and work that went into making these videos, in my opinion only,,, it seems like these days the only place a person can find facts about what is happening in the world is by the efforts from people like you that care about everyone knowing the facts then presenting your work for all to see , again thank you, much appreciated to you and everyone else who does the same !!

What was your major? You must have felt quite compelled, what with 1 yr. to go and all. I ask because I myself am planning on returning to school soon after a long period of banging my head against the wall in the real world with no education/formal training or toilet pap…I mean a degree. Perhaps you can give me some insight as to what classes NOT to take 😉 Nevertheless, good luck to you, life is too short to waste it doing something you hate.

  • Reply JiveTurkey0001 September 16, 2012 at 6:55 am

Indeed. My grandmother, a very wise woman (R.I.P.), always used to tell me that money was the root of all evil.

  • Reply JiveTurkey0001 September 16, 2012 at 7:12 am

Perhaps. The problem is that morality, rationality, and logic often fall flat in the face of practicality, or, as described in the vid, self-preservation. Especially when an individual's needs are immediate. Which of course contradicts the type of forward-thinking enlightenment presented as a long-term solution to humanity's social ills as shown in the vid, whether they be created by a corrupt monetary system or not. Self preservation is both "human" and "natural".

  • Reply JiveTurkey0001 September 16, 2012 at 7:30 am

A very good documentary. Kudos to the creators. However, being more of a realist than an optimist myself, I think the vid makes an error in assuming inherent morality and goodness in the human species. I'm sorry but I reject the idea that the destructive behavior of mankind in general can be eradicated as simply as the vid might suggest, even in a technologcally advanced utopian society as shown. Real change rarely, if ever, comes easily or bloodlessly, a fact conveniently omitted here.

  • Reply Pablo Costa Tirado September 16, 2012 at 10:11 am

Hi. Thanks for watching. The human behaviour is not inherent, is learned. That´s what this (ant the other) videos show.

only 500 characters and so much to comment on…..I wish it were this simple….if everything is emergent, then nothing will ever be settled….each generation will inevitably "believe" the last missed it and they will assuredly get it right and so on…..it will never end, resulting in a further realization that life's meaning/value is uncertain/unkwowable, causing a reconsideration of things of old, followed by an attempt to get back to the good old days….nothing new under the sun 🙂

  • Reply Pablo Costa Tirado September 21, 2012 at 7:12 pm

Only 500 characters… I´d need 5000 to answer. But is simple: Emergent means you can´t even imagine 5 years jump in that society, don´t try even to image it´s destiny.

  • Reply MrCeodez September 22, 2012 at 1:08 am

neither can you "imagine" it's unintended consequences….technology fails often

  • Reply Pablo Costa Tirado September 22, 2012 at 9:57 am

Of course, and that´s how it should be. We only advance failing. It´s all about method.

  • Reply MrCeodez September 22, 2012 at 11:43 pm

we both agree that this current system is going to fail, and soon….but I can't subscribe to the venus project solution….destroy the world and most of it's inhabitants first and maybe you can try and start anew with this new paradigm…. impossible to move in that direction slowly trying to convince 7bil people that "your" system is better and more benevolent….not likely, people don't trust people's motives….history has a funny way of repeating itself…nice chatting with you

  • Reply pjdarling12 October 4, 2012 at 6:01 am

Virtually all systems are perfect in the eye of their creator(s), they become corrupted when some of its users twist the ideal to obtain individual gains. What makes this system any different. All sytems are perfect if all indivduals are willing to totally submit to the rules.

  • Reply xparodyx October 7, 2012 at 12:58 am

INTEREST IS CANCER… Let me explain(using examples)
The thing is if i give you 4 and you pay it back in four months, but if i charge interest on that 4 per 2 months i am getting 6 back
i originally gave 4 but i got 6 back, i got more money from the loaner than i was assigned to..
Now imagine this on a scale of millions, this is what the bank does

There´s no utopian cause there´s no static system. Wrong by definition.

In other videos Jacque talks about utopias.

  • Reply Anomie_Strain October 19, 2012 at 3:49 am

Somebody help me out. He starts talking about how technology could save us in the resource based economy. I guess he is saying that machines will free us from employment wage slavery, but what will happen if the machines break down?Who will fix them? How will they be payed to fix them? WIll there be an incentive to study and go to school to learn how to fix those machines? If somebody can answer this with sound lucid logic there is a bag of gummy bears and a bottle of mid range scotch in it 4 u.

  • Reply Pablo Costa Tirado October 19, 2012 at 6:36 am

There's no money so no one should be payed to fix them. The incentive system would be very different than today, look for it in youtube "Jacque Fresco (2011): Incentive & Motivation (Audio)". It's an old question.

In the other hand, you have misunderstood some part, the machines "will free us", but that doesn't mean that we will be doing absolutely nothing all day, even more in the transition age.

Jacque talks a lot about this in several videos and in the talks about transitional state.

  • Reply Anomie_Strain October 19, 2012 at 9:16 pm

I guess I will youtube it.

  • Reply Pseudo Nym October 20, 2012 at 10:02 pm

Im not making an attempt to answer your question, but eventually machines will have the ability to repair themselves and be 'self' sufficient and be able to replicate other machines.

  • Reply Joe Hoe February 11, 2013 at 7:44 pm

No, I can live without technology. I can not live without good politcis. Thank you soooo much for religion, God, and the government. Because I don't want to live in Mozambique or Nigeria. I don't need a bad monetary system, but money is like water it just flows and do its job. Neither do I need a bad hit man

  • Reply Russ Faraci February 12, 2013 at 5:59 am

Its all about pride as incentive in an abundance (non monetary) system. If you take pride in what you do or make, then the product or service, you will want people to have it for free, just as you will receive anything you want in exchange. When companies make products for $, products are designed with "profitability first" and not quality. There is no money to be made in free energy. Fossil fuels are controlled in supply, making it perfect for profit in the current structure.wheres that scotch?

No niños no!
